ABOUT THE ARTIST: Toni Morgan is a former background singer for the Empress of Soul, Mrs. Gladys Knight. She and her friends perform inspiring and uplifting gospel songs. Christian Simmons will be performing the role of Apollo in Orfeo at the Santa Fe this year. He is a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera’s 2023 Laffont Competition. Winner of the Opera Foundation’s 37th Annual Scholarship Competition, Mr. Simmons makes his European debut at Deutsche Oper Berlin in September this year. Students from the National Dance Institute will perform “praise dances” to gospel hymns.
